The Faceless God - Book Two, Part One: Spirits & Ash | Ebook Drops This Monday 9/26 on Kindle! (But Wait, Why 'Part One'?)

UPDATE 3/18/2024: The Faceless God - Part One: Spirits & Ash is available now in ebook (Kindle) and singed limited edition hardback with variant cover art by illustrator Phillip Ginn (Ellderet Store exclusive) 🥰

Dear Readers:

Tomorrow’s the day!! Prepare to dive back into the world of the Ellderet, to continue the stories of Kira, Eutau, and the Sanctifiers as they fight to survive.

The Faceless God - Part One: Spirits & Ash is the first of two parts that make up the complete book. Because a frustrating amount of time was stolen from me by the chemotherapy treatments I had to undergo this year, I’ve decided to publish The Faceless God in two parts. Part Two (forthcoming) still needs more revisions before it is done. I understand if readers are pissed off by this choice, and for that I am truly sorry. However, I think this is the right thing to do, as the alternative was to betray the story and the characters by publishing something I’m not satisfied with.

Because the book will be published in two parts, I have reduced the price of each part from $4.99 to $2.49 so the price of the entire book will stay the same. For those of you who opt in to read The Faceless God as two parts, you will receive the complete ebook for free via a link that will be included in Part Two. I’ve also had an alternate, desaturated version of the cover (see below image) made to distinguish Part One from the full-color cover previously announced in my Newsletter of the Cursed and the front page dedicated to updates about The Faceless God. And a paperback of the full book will follow once the complete ebook is published on Kindle.

I hope, dear reader, that you enjoy the story. I’m very proud of The Faceless God - Part One: Spirits & Ash as it is the story that was in my heart, the one the characters whispered to me, susurrando en mi oído. As with The Deadbringer, a lot of research went into TFG; the ebook includes a bibliography of what I read in the process of fleshing out the world.

I’m just now starting to grasp who I am as an independent author and that there is more than one way to bring a story to life. Eeek! It has been a long road, and there is still more to go, but I am so excited that the first part of this story will soon be in your hands.

Until next we meet,

E.M. Markoff
